Hurrah! It's February!

I can hardly believe I'm saying this..

Some of you will know that February is, or I can now say was, my least favourite month of the year. In 2010 I decided to do something about that (see here) and made the rash decision to write a novel in February. In fact it took me two Februaries to write a 50,000 word first draft, and this year, this February, I will edit it.

Most of the posts under Simply Write are about my novel writing efforts.

I began my writing month today by re-reading all the Simply Write posts myself. I am touched again by all the encouraging comments you made - I can't tell you how much that helped, and I thank you again!

Do you have a least liked time of year? Is it February? And can you do anything at all to make it more fun?

For me it used to be February but I think that my expectations were too high. Now I just appreciate each little green shoot that appears in the ground, the cool but brilliant sunshine casting its long shadows, and I am happy to go along with the season as it unfolds.

I so agree about expectations! I used to think that February meant Spring - but here in UK Spring often doesn't come till March or often April - so I was always longing for something that didn't happen in February. I think now that that was why I got down in February. Thanks for sharing - the little shoots of the snowdrops are just showing now...

It doesn't seem a year since you were working on this challenge.I will be interested to hear about your progress with your editing his year. January is my least favourite month, at least in February there are more signs of spring and the days are also getting longer.

February is my birthday month, so it is one of my favourites. January is the month I have the tough time with. Seemingly endless dark and cold days...

Good luck on your editing process this month!

I had two babies in February (with 4 years in between) - but it's not a cheering-up exercise one can repeat for ever!

march is the dreary month for me...here in west virginia, we usually have lots of snow in february, which is delightful...but our hills stay very brown till april....march seems to go on forever........brown, chilly and dull.......
