..but my word for 2016 has taken on a new bittersweet meaning. I am having to think afresh about things I never imagined....
What was your word again?
Decision : no more broken tools, holey gardening gloves, handleless trugs... ..but my word for 2016 has taken on a new bittersweet meaning. I am having to think afresh about things I never imagined.... What was your word again?

I thought about how you had chosen 'afresh' the other day when you wrote about dreaming a new dream. Not the 'afresh' you or anyone else could have imagined, but you are embracing its bittersweetness with courage. That was my word for the year - courage. I'm making progress with it I think! And good decision about the tools! :-)

Mine was 'lighter'. I don't seem to be making much headway, but that may be because I had to look it up in your archives!! So, now it is at the forefront of my mind, and Spring feels on its way, I think I'll take a leaf out of your book and at least get rid of all the broken stuff!

You will feel much lighter getting rid of all the broken stuff - just that one thing is possibly job enough Penny?

My word is content--as in being content. For the most part, I would say it is working. Edging toward a decision about retirement at the end of this year so deciding if I can be content with having less money (but still be able to pay bills). I know I would be content not to drive my daily 100 mile commute into Washington DC:). And I am content to not watch TV or listen to hateful (US) politicians. However, whether I can be content with the possible election results is questionable.

I'm glad your word is working for you. BBC iPlayer is showing an exceptionally brilliant programme called Inside Obama's White House - I wonder if it is also being shown in your country. I hope so.

Thanks, Freda. Apparently I can watch it on You Tube in series form but not on TV. Will have to follow up on it.

Good advice - I am rushing things which can't really be rushed! Wishing you plenty more joy.

My word is adventure. It has proven much more of a challenge than I first thought. I sometimes feel the true miniaturist given the limited space I am able to move in.

A timely reminder Freda. It was energise or invigorate. I lost focus in the winter doldrums. Must try harder!
