..is defrosting the freezer. It takes forever! But I found the last of the bramble and apple puddings and had it for lunch.
Such comfort when the sky is dark and the rain is lashing down.

What is your favourite comfort food in November?

I'd say cake. I'd also say fruit pies - and puddings like the one you've posted above.

Lately, I've been comforted by root veg tray bake (pumpkin/sweet potato, onions, carrots, beetroot) with herbs, a little Ras el Hanout spice mix, covered with mixed tinned chopped tomatoes & peanut butter, then baked. Eaten with turmeric basmati rice (sizzle a little turmeric in butter, then mix into the rice when cooked.)

That sounds delicious. Even the smell of it cooking would be a comfort!

Yes, anything with a cheese sauce! I had a giggle at making you feel hungry.

Veg-rich lamb stew with herby dumplings! Mulled cider ('hard' cider). Porridge with sultanas and cinnamon.

Mould anything I should think. Why do I only have that at Christmas?

Your pudding looks as if it would hit the spot and I ha e a great yearning for crumble at the moment as well. Defrosting the freezer is on the todo list for this week for me as well but someone told me to wipe down the inside of the freezer with vegetable oil when you are ready to start refilling it and since then it has been a much easier job. The ice falls off in sheets quite quickly though I'm afraid it is delayed gratificationfor after the next time you defrost the freezer!

No, I have never heard of that before. Will keep it in mind. The pudding did hit the spot and I eat it all!
