What a marvellous read the BBC article is. I knew from you about the children's rainbow drawings (saw one in a house near me when I went out for a brief walk today), but all these other initiatives from the 6pm neighbourhood singing, to special family cooking and dining, to 12 o'clock clapping, to entertaining the neighbours with ballroom dancing inside your window - all of these 'Where there is life, there is hope' messages are part of the new Italian pastime of spreading optimism and boosting morale. Let's hope this new pastime catches on in the UK.

Beautiful photo, and what a wonderful link. I hope we embrace something like the singing. Last night many people stood at their front doors and clapped to show thanks for the NHS . It felt like such a moment of unity.

How nice to see you here and to know you are well! There are amazing things online to keep us entertained but hoping it is not too long before we can experience the real thing again. The new normal.
