I'm having a fresh start.
We do give significance to numbers and dates, don't we? I mean there's no reason why I shouldn't make a fresh start on the 19th of February, or the 22nd of September really, but 1st March it is.
In what area of your life would you like to make a fresh start?
For me it's the garden. I am getting rid of all those pots lined up under the hedge. They are full of things which we have no room for, don't actually have the right conditions for, no longer recognise, are not quite nice enough to give away or sell, are pot bound and need a lot of attention to recover, or are dead already! They are on my conscience and even when I am not looking at them I know they are there.
I also know there are people out there who would like them - but apart from putting out the word that I am getting rid of plants, how am I to find those people really, and transport the stuff to them - then I would find myself making them look better for them, potting them on and before I know it I'll be dividing them and back where I started.
Saving surplus plants is a vicious circle!
Getting rid of them is not a sin!
The same could apply to the seed collection....
I want to use my time in the garden nourishing the healthy favourites I already have, setting them off to best advantage, enjoying every stage of their development, savouring them.
So, it's a fresh start. Yay!
