Simply.. longing for the sun....

3/6/2015

A sunny day was forecast. I was waiting. I was even up at dawn which is very unusual for me. All the many seats were waiting. All the plants were waiting. The whole of Scotland was waiting...

I did have lunch outside and dashed out every time the rain went off and the sun came out from behind a cloud. Five minutes here, fifteen minutes there. But I long to discard some layers of clothing, put away the winter coat and waterproofs. I'm greedy. I want a whole day of warm sun and no wind. I want to get warmed to the core. It is JUNE after all!

Meanwhile I have put a tick beside Day 3 of my 30 day challenge, and Lynne is joining me (I think). Maggie is learning Photoshop and I know for a fact she did ten minutes today. Cath is well into her own series of challenges and Lotta is bouncing with joy on her trampoline!   Late news! Angela is going to learn some plant names! Penny is practicing French and Julia is recommitting to her yoga and meditation practice.

How wonderful that we all love learning.

Anyone else doing the challenge?

And how is the weather in your part of the world?

Tomorrow's forecast?

Rain.

Lots of choices of where to sit! Do you have a favorite?

Our weather.... We've had to turn the furnace back on to take the chill off. Not my idea of June weather! I'm ready for sun & warmth, not gray skies, clouds & below average temperatures.

Tomorrow? Pretty much more of the same.

Favourite has to be the porch, early evening, with a glass of wine... (I have the stove lit too!)

What a wonderful variety of seats you have - perfect for just sitting and staring once the weather gets better, that is. We had a glorious afternoon yesterday and this morning is shaping up nicely - about time too.

Sitting looking at the garden is my favourite thing! Enjoy the sunshine Elaine. My husband is in sunny York..

I think the warmth may finally have arrived. I do so hope the plume of hot SE air reaches you. More seating is high on my wishlist. At present we move chairs around to catch the sun, or, more rarely, to find shade.

I hope you get the seats before the heatwave!

Still haven't started the exercise challenge, but have since remembered that I didn't sign up for that anyway, I said I was going to do some French every day! Zut alors!! I've definately been more stressed than I thought about my daughter and all the logistics !! It did make me laugh when I remembered though. Pennyx

i am in eastern ontario, canada, and we have had cold temps and rain till yesterday .the wood stove was handy to take the edge off, for sure. today dawns sunny and will be 77F. i might get in the lake today!
looking for sunny spots for the chairs also, as we are in deep woods. yesterday, i brought my yoga mat out onto the deck and let the forest speak to me.
good thing you picked an indoor activity for your 30 day challenge freda!

Oh your yoga practice must be twice as good in a setting like that! Wonderful.

Reading yur favourite spot is the porch... now I wonder where is the porch? Tja, that happens when English isn't the mother-language.

Today our weather has been good, 23C, a bit windy. Tomorrow will be warmer still, tomorrow night brings a thunderstorm and rain again with much lower temperatures to follow. That's why this afternoon we sat for a while in the walled herb garden of a convent nearby. So much enjoyed the quiet.

Photo 3 Cath. A little built in seat by the front door 5 steps up from the front garden giving a nice overview. That walled garden sounds lovely, as does the warmth!

Central Va, USA- really, really pouring rain! So much for picnic on the Chickahominy River. But summer heat & drought could start any day so I'm thankful for rain.

What a shame about the picnic - I hope there will be lots more chances Gail.

I love all the seats waiting so patiently for bottoms to fill them! Your garden looks so welcoming. It has been beautifully sunny and warm here today and I did try to waft some northwards in your direction after I read your post this morning, so I hope it arrived?

Waft harder Lotta! But I'm glad some of you are getting it :-)

I'll happily share some of my slight sunburn with you Freda - that way we'll have both had just the right amount instead of me having too much from Tuesday. It is incredibly warm in Bern at the moment, I am lapping up every minute of it, and totally feel your frustration! Come on sun, hit Scotland! It's June!
