How is your thirty day challenge going? (See here.)

I'm on day eight and feeling good. So good in fact that while watching five year old Scott having his swimming lesson I found myself signing up for a few lessons myself!

I can swim a bit but need to build up confidence to be able to actually enjoy it more.

I know it's not much but its more exercise than I've had in years and I still have this dream of swimming in one of the lovely sandy turquoise bays in the Outer Hebrides - maybe next year...

Do you have any unfulfilled dreams?

Can you take a baby step towards making them come true?

good on ya, freda!!! you will feel so good to do that...swimming is one of those skills that we can't half-do, isn't it?
i was a very poor swimmer till about 8 years ago...i was in a yarn store and in a LONG line waiting to pay for my purchases, because they were having an unbelievable sale...the woman in front of me was a swim coach..i mentioned that i taught yoga...she said, oh, she'd love to learn yoga and i said how much i'd love to swim better...she was from cleveland...3 hours from me..she assured me that she could coach me over the phone, and i her....so for that winter, we phoned each other once a week, and gave each other coaching...and i am now a confident swimmer.... i can only hope she maintains her yoga practice...just think how well you will do with instruction in person.....:-)
will look forward to updates!

After reading The Black House, I didn't know the water in the Hebrides would be warm enough or calm enough to swim in. That's a great goal to work for.
I'm going to think about what unfulfilled dreams I have. It may be I've suppressed them so as not to be disappointed they're still unfulfilled. You've got me thinking!

Some of the sandy bays are so shallow that the water does warm up on sunny days, and the wind goes down sometimes too...I'm watching the sunrise as I write and thinking dreams don't have to be grand or ambitious - they can be small but precious to you....

That sounds like a really nice challenge, and I'm glad it's working out well for you. Simplifying, in all its forms, is good for the body and mind.
