Simply ready....

..to start a 30 day challenge today (see previous three posts)

Here are some encouraging quotes from the Fast Diet book -

You'll still be eating foods you enjoy most of the time. (Make that all of the time. I don't plan on eating anything I don't enjoy!)

The majority of your time is spent gloriously free of calorie counting. (I won't be counting  calories at all as I am just going to use the meal plans suggested in the book - they look like my kind of food.)

Differing textures, punchy flavours, colour and crunch....will keep your mouth entertained.

Do it with gusto.

This suggestion made me laugh - Begin on a day when you feel strong, purposeful, calm and committed - Oh well, that will be Monday then!!

Can we do it? Of course we can!

Thank you for the great comments on the last few posts which have at least as many encouraging things to say, not to mention useful links - don't miss them and do add your own!

I'm pleased with my Jawbone UP 2 which is really helping me lose weight. It looks good, monitors my steps and sleep patterns. Plus it gives great tips. Worth a look. Good luck!

Hi Liz and thanks for commenting! Of course the technology can be a terrific help (it made me smile at my 'lo - tech' picture! But you also reminded me that somewhere I have a pedometer which could
come in handy...)

This morning trying out a yoga move I slowly slid sideways like a sinking ship (allowed to laugh). So amazed finding myself lying there. I guess I still have an inner body image of myself being a flexible young adult..

I take my pedometer with me on every walk, thus I know what distance I have covered over the past three years even though my walk is only slightly different each day. It helps keeping motivation up. Love your smileys.

Wait until I am strong, purposeful, calm and committed, eh? Yikes, I might never start! :)

Cath was a sinking ship, and I was stuck in dock... except I forgot to take my sense of humour onto the yoga mat with me and cried instead. I think there must have been a little bit of me that secretly hoped I had more strength than I thought. Only day one though, it will get better. Maybe I need a smiley face sticker before I start 😊. How did it go for you Freda?

Oh poor Lotta :-(

29 days to go and of course it will get better! 'Pick your self up, dust yourself down, start all over again.' It is shocking how quickly we get unfit when we stop doing exercise, isn't it.. I had a good day thanks - see next post...

Sorry to hear about some of your yoga "incidents" and hope everything turned out alright. I have huge sympathy over that, as I had a similar experience when restarting yoga some time ago. It did get better folks, if that's any help!
Things went well for me today, as I walked quite a bit in London, where I was visting an exhibition. Also managed to resist the dreaded munchies. Hard though. Hope everyone else's first day also went well?

You can walk miles without being aware of it in cities and seeing exhibitions and well done resisting the munchies. Glad you had a good day Damsonlily.
