..and some souvenirs.

The favourite sandals I took with me to New Zealand literally fell apart when I got there - they looked fine on top but great lumps of sole fell off around the flat and we wondered what all these bits were...I found a lovely pair of shoes in a sale in the nice (air conditioned) department store Ballantynes. I just know I'm going to love these.

I could have spent a lot in the beautiful Art Gallery shop but just bought this little bit of silly decoration because the colours are so lovely..

And I could not resist this tiny tiny notebook though I don't know what I am going to put in it.

Any ideas?

Gorgeous views! I would probably keep that little notebook in my bag for those moments when you just need to jot down a couple of words to remember an idea. Or to leave a note for a friend. Or self-care reminders? Or maybe it could be for haikus on the bus!

Every now and then I do a (Jon Kabat-Zinn) meditation about a mountain lake. The first photograph could be it.

The photograph with the high grasses and the fluitekruid (is it cow parsley?) is just perfect, the one with the decoration looking like a boa makes me happy.

If the notebook has a special meaning for you I am afraid you will have to wait till it tells you what it's purpose is.

We could hear a bell bird at that lake Cath. The flower is yarrow and the lei reflects the Polynesian influences in NZ You saying how they make you feel has given me a germ of an idea....thank you!
