This is your month perhaps?

February and I have a history! (See Februaries on sidebar)

From being my least favourite month, to becoming my most favourite month, to a bittersweet mix of a month I am finding it hard to ride the emotional rollercoaster effect this year, so plan to keep things simple with short snippets of this and that from Februaries past.

In January 2011 I decided to make Februaries less miserable with a rather crazy idea. I had great fun with it, finding nice places to write and finding tips from writers to help me along. I am about to take the advice of this one and get out my novel and remind myself where I am at with it.

First step? Get the vacuum cleaner out and get rid of the layer of dust on the briefcase!

Do you have a month that is best for you, or hard for you?

I do particularly like the month of May..

I love January. After the ruckus of Christmas is wrapped in tissue, boxed, and shelved in the basement. For me, it is often the quietest month of the year. I crave quiet. It is a good month for reading, writing and drinking tea.

Quiet times are so important. I hope your January was a lovely one.

If I didn't live in such a cold and draughty house I think I could get used to the idea of hibernating over winter and cosying it out. But I do live in a cold and draughty house. So I'm going with May!

Cold and draughty keeps you moving (and fitter?).

Based on weather alone, I would probably pick September. Still warm, but not quite the blast of heat and humidity of the summer months where I live. But I would also choose it because it feels like the start of a new year as compared to January. Must be a holdover from long ago school days.

The weather so affects how we feel. Today has started dry with gentle sunshine here, but there is snow on the hills. Definitely still winter.

I think April may be my favourite. It's mid Autumn which means deep blue skies, sunshine, crisp air - I find it energising!

You write so well here on this blog Freda. I hope we get to read this novel one day. No pressure of course! Something I do love about February is that the days start to become noticeably longer and that lifts my spirits.

I'm so wishy-washy! I can't pick just 1. There's something in every month that I like. What I can say is I look forward to each season & by the end of that season, I'm ready for the next.

Change is all around us all the time, but we often resist it don't we!

My favourite months are May and Oktober. There's a - difficult to put into words- fresh maturity to the season then. November and January
I still find hard albeit not so much as before I follewed your suggestions to make them more attractive.

We are lucky to have such subtlety in our seasons I think.' Fresh maturity' is a lovely phrase'. It maybe describes the age I'm at!!
