Simply..a must see....

..this exhibition in Edinburgh - only two weeks left..It was excellent and having recently read Zola's The Masterpiece I felt I could easily conjure up the atmosphere of the first showings in Paris of many of the works gathered here from all around the world.

A delicious starter with a side dish of roast potatoes made a satisfying lunch in the rather nice gallery restaurant.

Edinburgh in the sunshine, such a treat.

Don't miss Lotta's simple and beautiful designs here. I have one of her red trees and am buying them for everyone this year....oops, I've given away the surprise!

I read about this exhibition and really fancied seeing it, but it is hundreds of miles from where I live, and I don't travel very well. Did you notice whether the catalogue was worth having?

Linda I did notice that it was £24.95 which I thought was rather a lot and so did not look closely! There was a smaller version for £7.99 which probably had the same text as that on the walls which I thought was good. I am so sorry you can't make it to the exhibition.

That looks like a wonderful exhibition Freda. I love the thought of Daubigny's studio boat too - a floating studio would be fun! Or a floating gallery perhaps... in the middle of a loch...?!! (Sorry, imagination in overdrive today!)

They have made a replica of the studio boat as part of the exhibition - at first I thought it a bit gimmicky, but it is very well done and with a little imagination (which we are not short of!) you can think yourself there on the river...

Edinburgh in the sunshine, a delicious lunch, a very good exhibition, it sounds like such a wonderful day.
Did you have room to move and stand still or was the exhibition very crowded?

It was Cath and in the company of a lovely friend, and it wasn't crowded either - the joy of being able to go on a weekday.

Simply..a must see....
