   You may remember we used to have ywo very tame robins here, and that last winter I ttried to tame a new one. I seemed to make no progress. The robin flew away whenever I moved and seemed extremelyy shy. Could this be the same one, now older and bolder? It flew past me on the porch and in the open door (the first day of autumn was warm and sunny) and investigated the study and the bathroom before settilng on the top of the door for a full five minutes!

Robins seem to quite like being indoors even if they prefer to stay on the other side of the room. At the garden centre where I worked we had a robin who would come into the shop whenever the weather became colder. You would see it wait for a customer to activate the automatic doors so it could come in or out and it was lovely to work to the sound of bird song close by. However, a resident robin, no matter how cute and tuneful, still means having to clean up teeny, tiny bird poop!

Love your little robin. I have one that follows me round when I am gardening but flies off if I move.

You are certainly going to be cosy. I love the idea of taste of candles because you really have to like the scent to fill your house with it. Could you tell us where they came from?

They are the Parks candles tester set, normally prohibitively expensive but I bought mine on Brandalley at a very vastly reduced price.

Robins are such friendly little characters. Like Rosemary , I have one that likes to supervise my gardening. When we used to keep goats , a pair if robins nested in the stable and reared a brood of young. They were incredibly tame and several generations came back and nested there. They were delightful company.
