..that Human beings can only truly cherish a limited number of things at one time.
Marie Kondo
I like this fact - it's like a relief to know this!
And I think that I do cherish the things that are left more.
Loving it.

What a truly incredible step that is, to come to that realization!...especially in our consumer culture of “More is better.” Freda...you are leading the way for all of us who check in with you daily!

I'm just so impressed that someone as young as Marie Kondo knew this at a far earlier age than I did!

What holds you back lucille? Is it lack of a helper? Or lack of a place to take things in your area? The stuff itself can be very exhausting for sure!

My favourite is donating. It's win/win. 'That Wall' sounds a bit like my shed. Have you a plan? And can you break it down into baby steps, and take the next step?

It allows us to be more present with what is left doesn't it? Instead of subconsciously blocking it out because it is too overwhelming. I've noticed that I'm much more aware of the shapes and textures of the things I have around me now and they have more of a presence. As if they can breathe out now... and so can I!

While I wholeheartedly agree, one category remains that gets out of control too easily. I love books and reading, have collected a lot, now patiently waiting for their turn to be read by me, their very slow reader. Have also done some serious weeding and what is still there sparks joy and thus is allowed to stay for now.

One must simply be ruthless, Cath...there is no other way with this kind of problem! Close your eyes tightly and just do it...:-)

Sometimes a bit of ruth is necessary, I agree. Hi Cath, I'm with Julia on a bit of ruthlessness for this... It can feel scary at first but is remarkably refreshing! I would be tempted to unsubscribe to everything and see if there's anything you miss... you can always subscribe again. And as for the ones you already have, if this entire category disappeared for some reason overnight, what would you wish you could have saved? Sometimes I find it easier to assume I will be letting it all go and then just pick a few things to keep, rather than trying to work out what to let go of... Good luck! :-)

Lotta I answered Cath before I read this - we are clearly on the same wavelength!

.Take the pressure off by unsubscribing to them all for a while. Then after a few months you can re-subscribe to the ones you miss (if any).....? It sounds as if you perhaps have enough reading material already!
