In 2016 I will look at things afresh.

Habits, routines, goals, ambitions, lifestyle....if I have misgivings about anything I will look afresh.

Perhaps there are changes I could make, ruts I could get out of, ways of doing things that might be better than the way I do them now, or I might see that I have worked out ways which suit me very well.........but that comfort blanket can, you know, get a little suffocating!

How did you get on with your words for 2015 - growth, listen/walk/space, flow, nourishment (voeding), relish, yes, curate, thrive? (You know who you are!)

And have you chosen a word for 2016?

Wonderful.

My 2015 word was "wisdom". I do feel a little wiser! For 2016 I am going to choose "joy". I plan to be mindful of at least one moment of joy each day. Thank you for your very thoughtful blog! Happy new year!

I think I mostly said 'yes' to everybody but myself! That wasn't really the point of it but old habits die hard.

Maybe 'no' would have the desired effect in 2016?

My word is going to be 'lighter' in 2016. I'm hoping to approach life with a much lighter touch, to be physically lighter, and to have a house that is lighter too. The sun has just come out after a morning of endless rain, so the world is immediately feeling lighter! Hooray!

Mine was "curate" - I'm afraid I ended up not paying it too much conscious attention.
However. Over Christmas, in particular, I have found myself really aware of enjoying my environment and belongings, appreciating each object for its provenance and/or where/who it came from, and at the end of the year, I think that is certainly a definition of "curate", so subconsciously, it seems I was on the right track! And yes, more of the same, please :)
All the same, I'm not sure I even want a word for this year, as I know it's likely to be a very spontaneous one where pretty much anything could happen...

Good curating obviously, whether conscious or subconscious. It sounds like your word is 'spontaneity' but you don't have to have a word!!

Originally meant to make dreaded January a more enjoyable month the course I took ánd the one that follewed turned out to be great nourishment for my imagination and writing.

I had to wait till December to see nourishment in the literal sense take on a promising new shape, when with the help of a dietician I started trying out ways to change my very sensible but utterly boring weekly menu - gluten, egg, lactose and fructose free - into a feast for my body as well as the eye.

And the months in between? Filled with slow yet deliberate Kondoing, nourished by the journeys shared here.

I'm ready for 'adventure' and I welcome it will challenge me to re-invent the meaning as most of my life is lived indoors.

Well nourished in every way Cath. What a success! Thank you for sharing. Adventurous challenges ahead, but you are sure to meet them all with a year's experience like that behind you.

I don't really choose a word for the year as I don't feel I need to but if I did then I guess it would be explore - which I hope to more of this year. But I will reviewing old habits with a view to changing the less desirable ones.

You don't of course need to choose a word but I agree that explore would be a good one!

If a teacher was marking my progress on following a word they would say could do better! I chose Live well, laugh often and love much. I have done all of these things but with a bit more effort could have got the gold star! Look forward to seeing what you are going to refresh - there will always be words of wisdom or inspiration to follow! Sarah x

You're Kondoing your lifestyle Freda! It sounds great, and several of the things you mention also come under 'courage' for me, especially getting out from under the comfort blanket - so I will be doing some of the same. I look forward to hearing more...

Lotta you are right! Might re-read Marie Kondo from the angle of thoughts and ideas instead of stuff...What fun!

I actually think your perspective on things is always ... afresh (it's one of the so many reasons I love your blog), so I am looking forward to reading you on that this year. I love that your word for 2015 brought us readers joy as well! I do have an intention for 2016, evolving around how can I be more helpful, but I didn't settle in a word yet.

Oh, flow worked nicely for me in 2015, thank you for asking and remembering! It certainly improved my life, not just by the acknowledge of the flow state, which impels me just a bit out of my comfort zone, but also in a more mundane way, of establishing a rhythm to daily life where time and activities just "flow" instead of feeling rushed all the time.
Wishing everyone a great 2016!
