Have you come across rhodochiton? It's a native of Mexico grown as a tender half hardy annual here in UK.
I've been given two, in not very good condition, and am nursing them on in the greenhouse
in the hope that they will look good enough by garden open day to put in a hanging basket and trail around the edges of the porch so that the flowers hang down like this...each almost black flower with its little purple parachute!
I've also remembered the twisted willow sticks I used last year to support the sweet peas on their wigwam (they were hidden behind a hedge).
I love experimenting with different colours in the garden each year.
