I do still enjoy the podcast of this name.
A couple of wrm days and a huge thuderstorm this morning. Tbe brambles are ripeniing, the meadow areas are cut, the Rose of Sharon is berrying and the Perseid meteor shower may be visible tonight.

Such simple things you make so lovely and cozy feeling. Your words are pure prose that evoke the feelings of being present with you. Thank you, Freda.

These are beautiful. Isn't it always the simple things? And these are a wonderful herald of the ripening season.

Your post brings together pleasure in the familiar and seasonal with the extraordinary and special potential sightings of shooting stars and northern lights. A neighbour across the road took a photo of them from his yard which looks north across playing fields. So sad i missed them again. But have feasted my eyes on seasonal changes in local parks and gardens and, up on higher ground above Nunnington, fields of ripening barley, and berries beginning to colour on the hawthorns and in hedgerows. So peaceful up there.

No sightings of shooting stars or northern lights here. Too much cloud. It is very beautiful around Nunnington. I can picture it all from your description. Thank you, Elizabeth.

Your vase of berries does signal a change in the year and seasonality is inevitable so I always try to embrace it rather than desperately clinging on to summer. Seeing a blackbird eating brambles, damsons for sale in the shops and the fields turning shades of gold all delight me but, must admit, the first leaves turning colour aren't such a welcome sight. Maybe the thought of having to rake them up.

I too have very mixed feelings about this particular change of season. For some reason I am more accepting of it this year. Still hoping for some sunny days!
