Simply..baby steps ....

back to health and back to basics. First cuppa, with a tiny homemade biscuit. I've not been eating much.

I was careful not to switch on to the outrage/scandal/hysteria and other media madness, but opened the bedroom window, listened to the wind and the birds and slowly sipped the tea and nibbled gently on the biscuit, savouring every crumb. So lovely! Some lightly cooked chicken and a little salad and lots of water. Some extreme self care is called for...

Any tips most welcome.

Smoothies? May be a more palatable source of nutrition and calories at this time. Also some probiotics to counteract the antibiotics you were taking. Very gentle walks / exercise to get the blood flowing and lift the mood perhaps.....and fresh air definitely. I'm sorry if all these are obvious. I feel for you. X

All that Lynn suggests sounds good and I would add Radio 3 and a jigsaw. My favourite recuperation tools. Be gentle with yourself and hold the thought that it will pass.

A nice cosy throw and recline into a few days convelescence at a gentle pace. Feeling better is as much about the mental as physical well being so welcome some quieter self indulgent me time and you will be back to normal before you know it. Too often these days we try to rush the 'getting better' part often because we always have things waiting to be done or we feel guilty for doing nothing but a gentle walk and making some good food is not doing nothing.
Sending best wishes that you continue to feel much better. x

Sounds like you’re on the right track. Good grief…you’ve been unwell for about 4 weeks. Hope that is all behind you soon

I’m so sorry you’ve been so unwell. Others have given very good advice, I second it all, and just add try to lower your expectations of how soon you should be “over” it. Rest, don’t do too much in the moments when you feel a bit better, and drink lots of cups of tea. Fill up a flask in the morning, so that you can easily have a cuppa without having to go to the effort of making one! Lots of love, Pennyxx

Sorry that you are still feeling poorly . I guess you poured a lot of physical , mental and emotional energy into your painting work. Small meals ,I find soup easily digestible and nourishing ,milk shake or fruit smoothies to sip , nibbles that take your fancy.... and taking time to spoil yourself , appreciate the gentle small things in life ,not rushing or stressing over the rest of the world. Rest and time are great healers.
Know that you are in our thoughts .
