One of my hated jobs, too. I usually leave it until I have difficulty in pulling out the baskets, there's so much ice, but I have just bought a new fridge/freezer which promises no ice. We Will See!!
I hope it works Linda!
I would do it any day for a packet of Florentines!
These ones are really really good.
Oh that's funny! I like the idea of having a carrot to dangle when I do a difficult job, I should use it more often (though it sounds as though you ate the Florentines as you worked, not as a reward when finished!)
I will do my tax return tomorrow and will now make sure there is a treat when I finish (although as a self-employed person my whole life, just knowing where I stand from year to year is a reward in itself :-)
I can feel a batch of scones with jam and double cream coming on....
PS Freda, I wanted to say I always read and appreciate your posts but don't always get a chance to comment. It has been a challenging year and just to see your beautiful photos or read about something uplifting you've discovered is lovely - thank you!
I think I was eating through sheer boredom (not a good idea I know!) Thank you so much for your kind comment and enjoy the scones, jam and double cream Madeleine. x
Well, in a fit of pique 25 years ago, i cleaned out the freezer, called "goodwill" and gave it away! That solved THAT problem. But i don't remember rwarding myself properly at the time...that can be corrected today..:-)
With scones, jam and double cream perhaps? With a 30 mile round trip to the shops I'd miss my freezer.
Those do look rather yummy, and the box will go into the recycling, so you've kondoed something else out of the pantry as well ! I'm sure they "sparked joy" !!!
Slightly guilty joy...can there be such a thing?
if I had a freezer to clean out (my MIL tried for years to buy 1 for us) then I'd definitely need an enticement.
I shouldn't grumble as I only defrost it every few years!
