Simply..cheerful in the city....

Sunny though very cold. The restaurants had flowers on the tables outside (though everyone was inside) but it looked so jolly and so spring-like and reminded you what it is like to sit outside, and that it might not be too long before we do. Click to enlarge for a pop of colour.

In the station's Piano Garden someone had popped down the suitcase to stop and play something fabulous. I think it would be so thrilling to be able to do that! Do they have street pianos in your town? Whoever thought that up should get a medal.

And Carluccio's exhorted us to make the day Magnifico!

Another reason to be cheerful was that my eyes are 'stable'. Will keep juicing!

And sum up my health week at home when I have got my head round it.

I hope you are enjoying your weekend.

Nearly forgot! 9403 steps!

Stable is a good thing!

Congratulations on so many steps. It seems your steps were a lot lighter today for many different reasons: stable eyes; sunny day; flowers for no reason; unexpected music; and the end of a healthy week. Hope your enjoyed your prawn salad.

What a good idea. Enamel teapots in different colours. I must restrain myself. I felt the urge to look on ebay for some. The sun is out this morning. What a difference it makes. Yes we have an outdoor piano near the station. I heard someone playing concert standard Beethoven at a mainline station once. I think it might have been Waterloo.
I thought of you as I went for my biannual optician appointment yesterday. So glad that you are stable. You make it easy for us to forget that you have this anxiety because you are such a positive soul.

I liked the artless way the flowers were plonked in the teapots - added to the charm. Great about the sun, and the pianos and alll clear on eye health I hope.

Yes all clear thank you. New prescription and a chance to change the style partly forced by the eye watering cost of the rimless ones I usually wear.

so glad for the news about your stable eyes.

we don't have pianos in my town, but when visiting corvalis, Oregon, they had 5 or 6 upright pianos ( painted & decorated to the hilt!) scattered all around the town. we heard kids banging away & a man playing a piece fit for a concert hall. we considered it our private concert & thoroughly enjoyed it. when he was finished w the piece, he picked up his briefcase & we all went on our way.

Thanks Cathy. Isn't it a fun idea, the pianos?

Excellent news Freda! Do you usually have a juice every day? I've been starting the day with a green smoothie (all veg plus one apple) for the last 3 years and my body really complains now if I can't! Has made so much difference and changes my food choices for the rest of the day too. Love the cheerful teapots.

Thank you Lotta.I do have a juice every day I can, sometimes two and I agree it affects your choices of other food. I really enjoy them - apples, carrots and spinach mainly, with variations. It's good to know how you have benefited.

Freda, your news about your eyes is fantabulous! Keep up the excellent lifestyle choices and congratulations also on 9000 steps and a wonderful day...when we drive to the lake, there is a service center on the interstate that has a piano and it’s always fun to be stting there taking a break, having a coffee or a meal and enjoying the piano...:-)
Flowers and outdoor dining also essential to happiness! (Naps too!)

Thank you Julia. What a great idea for a service station. Can you imagine how therapeutic that would be for a tired driver? And for everyone else if the playing wasn't awful! Now naps...sleep is my next subject I think....
