Simply..chocolate meditation....

I just have to try this one out!

Dr Michael Moseley suggests putting a chocolate in your mouth and keeping it there for a full 10 minutes, concentrating on the taste and savouring it, putting all other thoughts out of your head.

My friend says that is impossible as chocolate melts at body temperature so it would not last that long. In the interest of science I feel obliged to test it :-)

For more sensible and serious advice from Michael Moseley there are lots of videos of his BBC TV programmes and talks on YouTube

Re yesterday's post How To Reduce Your Carbon Footprint When You Fly is a BBC video that encourages us all to make tiny changes...

We did a chocolate meditation at yoga class one Christmas... a segment of Terry's Chocolate Orange... but we were only a small group so I expect wider research is needed!

What fun! I’d never heard of it before. I’m all in favour of a little research group here...

I’ll sacrifice my taste buds to further scientific research

my sister does the melted chocolate routine when she is dieting. She’ll take 5 choc chips, one at a time, when she has a choc craving, and let each one melt...by the time she is done the 5 chips, the craving has passed..the brain has apparently registered “relief!”...:-) and of course, one could simply slow down and savour every bite of food we take....our brains really are filled with a lot of nonsense most of the time! I am sure the chocolate meditation is intended to break those tracks..

Well I would never have thought that would work! I do try to savour my food though, and not hurry it.
