Simply..dreaming....

What do I do once I have achieved the dream?

Does my dream-life still thrill me?

Still suit my circumstances?

Maintaining the dream isn't as exciting as creating the dream so....

Can I adapt the dream?

Can I dream a new dream?

I could just stop dreaming...or could I?

Have you achieved some of your goals and dreams?

(One thing I will stop is whining about the rain. So sad for the people of Houston.)

If I had the mastery to do it, I could have written these words (this poem) a year or so...
What I'm learning, one year into a self-discovery journey is that is not the dream itself that drives me, but the process to get there, so for me, it's been about redefining my dream, which is surprisingly hard to do. I imagine not having a dream would be a calmer, nicer way to do it, if we don't have expectations, nothing can go wrong and everything just is, but personally I don't believe I'm wired that way, I think I do need a dream, even though knowing that the dream is not a final destination to anything: "the path is the way".

It does sound as though you are enjoying the journey Cristiana, and I think once a dreamer, always a dreamer. Thank you for sharing.

There have been and probably will be dreams that I need(ed) to let go of, that had to change form, not always by choice.
I am in the process of learning to dream small where I tend to dream big.
I am learning dreaming small doesn't say anything about the depth I can reach nor the joy experienced.
To stop dreaming would be like being only half alive.

Life is change after all. I do agree with your last sentence - true for me too.

Dreams can be such illusive things...Meanwhile, I finish projects and they encourage me to believe that the dreams are possible.

Dreaming is like food for the soul. And one of my favourite pastimes! It has saved me in dark times and delighted me in good times. And changed my life more than once... I read somewhere, and I wholeheartedly agree, that dreaming is imagination's way of showing you what is possible...
Children should never be told off at school for dreaming - it's where inspiration and creativity live.

We are all on the same wavelength here I think!

I've always been a cautious soul and my dreams have stayed within the realms of the possible, but if circumstances change then my dreams will also change. During rough times I have, I hope, always tried to make the most of life, but when things improve, I believe in making the most of things then as well. I believe that it is never too late for new dreams, small or large.

in all aspects of our humanity, i believe we are constantly dreaming..of improving some aspect of our lives, or enriching it, ...if not, we are bored, depressed, worn out...depleted of our dreaming!
i'm thinking of a quote, cannot remember who: "the unexamined life is not worth living," (just looked it up: socrates)...dreaming is a way of examining what we wish to create for ourselves. and the mere act of being alive means that things are constantly evolving and changing...and sadly(sometimes)...our dreams have to accommodate that..keep up your dreaming, Freda! you are a constant source of inspiration...

Mark Forster http://markforster.squarespace.com
reposted something written by his daughter recently, which made me think a bit. Not just about dreams but about being happy in the moment.
Mark also published a book some years ago, which was a big departure from his usual time management writing, called Make your Dreams come True. He put forward the idea (if I remember this correctly) that dreams were essential and a way of moving yourself forward. He proposed that you then took one small step, one action towards your dream. And then repeated that. He realised that your dreams might change as you progressed through the actions, or, you might discover you wanted a different dream.
I believe Julia Cameron also advocated this idea in one of her books.

I think dreams are essential, even if we do not fully realise them. And I don't think we should dream small, if the dream is the right one for us.
