Ricotta dolce al limone

Best eaten on the balcony in the sunshine.

Be assured we are following and keeping up to date with directives and washing our hands continually! The argument might justifiably be made that we are in fact safer here in Italy where every possible precaution is being taken to avoid the spread of coronavirus, than in uk where they are just beginning to talk about such actions.....

At the moment we are focussing on, and grateful for, work, food and wine.

All shops are now closed 'except those selling basic necessities'.

Do you think uk will consider the off licence (strange British name for a wine shop) a ‘basic necessity’? Perhaps we will find out....

Freda enjoying your blog. What a tricky situation. so glad you are finding the positives. Concerned that our government got it's head in the sand.
As a child was always puzzled by the term "Beer Off". My grandparents had run one and after my Dad's father died, it was rented out to my Uncle Tom. An Off licence.
Loving your photos. Too long since I last visited Venice but suspect won't be going far for a while. Good luck with everything. x

Think you may be right about being safer where precautions are in place.

My state has just closed schools for the next two weeks, banned all gatherings of 250 or more people, required state employees to telework and activated the National Guard. But the fact is no one really knows what the numbers are since testing here has been a veritable shambles. Even folks with symptoms aren't able to get tested. So, yes, you likely are safer there. Thinking of you. Glad you are able to focus on your priorities.

I’m focused just now on your breakfast! And wondering how one could eat just one serving of that lemon ricotta!..i suppose one tiny bite at a time. If one must be restricted, let’s be restricted in style. Italians know how to do that!

That cake looks divine! Must try to find a recipe for it. Creches, schools and universities closed in France as of Monday. So we get to stay home, but my school is asking us to teach by video link ... Needless to say, I'd rather be in Venice eating lemon ricotta cake with you ladies.

I just heard that all cafés, restaurants, cinemas and non-essential shops are being closed in France as of midnight. That means very tough days ahead for a lot of people ... So I am off to count my blessings.

Well Freda, if Mary thinks that's serious - they (who are they?) have just cancelled my wife's handbell festival and my railway club open day. It seems to me you are in fact in the lap of unfettered luxury - and I am slightly jealous. Enjoy! Enjoy! and dream of the breakfast flavours!
