Simply..how many?

I knew I had a lot of seats in this small garden, but 19? I never thought to actually count them till now as I carry out an honest survey of my outdoor space.

Sitting thinking and looking is my favourite occupation, but even so..

The above is built in to the porch. Also in need of attention. We liked to sit on the porch in early evening and on hot days had dinner there. This little folding chair is maybe the only piece that does not need any attention! I began to paint it yellow and decided I liked some of the blue showing through. That 'shabby-chic' look? Too bad the rest look plain shabby without the chic. Hmm..

If I count my all-time favourite - the hammock - that makes 20!  Ridiculous. Except that they all have their purpose.

I am so glad to have photographs to look back on. I'm encouraged to see that I did manage the garden last year and it had its lovely moments, and will do again no doubt (if I do less sitting and more moving - good for the garden and good for me).

Is this the time of year you also take a long hard look at things? Home, wardrobe, garden whatever?,

20 seats - we could play musical chairs! If I may I'll sit in the shade of the porch looking out over your lovely garden, or you might find me in the hammock the moment you roll out of it!

April is my favourite month and it always brings the urge to change things up. I'm currently clearing out the workshop, working on ideas to reclaim my garden, wondering about a new haircut... and you may notice another small change too...

Oh we could all have such a good garden party here (one day maybe?)
but we'd have to draw lots for the seats! I'm intrigued about 'recliaming your garden...)

Our group kondoing process on your blog is causing me to take a long hard look at EVERYTHING......:-)
relationships could be in that list too...aproaches to email, excercise, diet...now about those 20 seats in the garden......we are all looking forward to hearing how you approach that one, Freda...:-)

With a bit of scrubbing and patching and repairing I'm keeping them all! (For now.) Good luck with EVERYTHING.

20. That is a lot indeed.... in comparison... we have four seats(chairs) in the apartment just now... (the rest is stored).
The long hard - does it spark joy- look has taken residence here now.

It is such a good question, isn't it?

Twenty seats! It definitely is an inviting message: there's a sit for everyone - just like here on the blog.
As for the changes, beside the garden, I'm currently thinking about my capsule wardrobe for spring/summer, and I've recently chopped my hair in half.

I've never worn makeup, maybe I should start! Or perhaps not, I read recently that the average woman spends over a year of her life putting on makeup... just think of all the free time you'll have Julia!

Liberation indeed!

Well, you could seat most of us in your garden! Of course, I would need one of the sturdier seats.

As for me, April/May are among my most difficult and hectic work months (e.g. two very large federal grant applications due) so my time is not my own with 10-12 hour workdays the norm. It is usually why my garden looks so terrible come early June.

I did pass my open closet door a little while ago...virtually all black and grey clothing (but lots of scarves for colour), so clearly I already have (sort of) a capsule wardrobe. But I will do another purge/donation of clothing/objects in June. Luckily, I can schedule the donation online with the charity and they will pick it up from my driveway on the appointed day.

i hope you get some time for yourself in April and May - it's a long time till June! What a good arrangement with the charity..

Ian always says to me 'not another seat' when I look longingly at yet another garden bench or chair - my reply is always you can never have too many seats in the garden. Some of ours got swept out to sea in the flood - I wonder where they are now!

I do agree! And if I see some furniture floating up the loch I'll let you know Viv..

So within, so without. You're a warm, pleasant person on the inside and it reveals this with 20! welcoming -to-visitors seats.
