Simply..I waken....

..with an alarm clock. A simple old fashioned one with a pleasant sound, which I am rather fond of. I set it for seven in summer and eight in winter. I don't set ot on Sundays. I very often waken just before it goes off.

All too oten I waken long before it goes off. What is it about three in the morning?!

It was quite by chance that I photgraphed my little clock at ten past ten, but it reminded me that I once read that clocks for sale are always set at this time because it looks happier than say twenty past eight. Hurrah or amalogue!

What wakens you? Could it bee nicer?

I'm afraid I just use my phone. You've got me thinking maybe I should set it up with a birdsong alarm, or get one of those dawn simulator alarms. The latter wouldn't be much use to you in Scotland in the summer months!

Re your post of 20th, Freda - got me thinking how beneficial sharing ideas and hints about overcoming problems is. I really like your /Tony Robbins', idea of turning something bad into an opportunity. Certainly something to develop.

There can't be many people who follow this blog who aren't carrying some difficulty or sorrow. The presence of other women, most likely inn a similar position, plus the uplifting images (where even a humble cup of coffee is made capable of looking beautiful ) makes this a lovely place to come to. So lucky to have such a generous and infinitely creative blog to follow.

Rosemary's comment sums up how I feel about your blog Freda. As for waking up , I have an alarm clock but can't hear it well enough for it to wake me! Early morning light is usually enough to disturb me and I wake just before the alarm rings.As I get older I often find myself wide awake at 3a.m.

3 o’clock in the morning: have you come across the Anglo-Saxon word UHTCEARA? This can be loosely translated as ‘fears that stock you before dawn’. It’s rather a comforting thought to think of them lying on their straw mattresses a 1000 years ago worrying about stuff too.
