as I post a few more memories of Venice!

I learned from Heather, who learned from Cinzia, who learned from her mother exactly now to make an espresso. I didn't know I liked it.

This came today. First try tomorrow morning.

How do you like your coffee?

This is quite fun.

I only read it after I came back :-)

I got converted to using a coffee pot like yours after a stay with some Italian friends in Naples 30 odd years ago. Now that you know how to order coffee Italian style, you will just have to make another trip to Italy!

I don't drink coffee - I've never liked it and not compatible with caffeine, but I LOVE the smell! It's 11am so guessing you might have had yours now... How was it?

Lovely thanks Lotta - though perhaps I should not have had two! It's funny about liking the smell and not the taste. As a child I loved the smell when my Grandmother made coffee but did not acquire the taste for it until I was adult.

When I'm on my own, I find I can't get the right strength coffee from an espresso pot without wasting some - I think my smallest pot is a 3-cup, still only a small amount, but very strong! What I usually do is microwave half a mug of milk, and top that up with coffee. I don't think I could handle two of those!
