Before I had made any Artist Date plans an offer came of a lift to the city and I said yes. I arrived in the Merchant City area which I don't know very well without my usual plans and lists, and realised this was the perfect opportunity for an Artist Date - just to wander and look, without a purpose, but with my camera..... ![]() I also popped into some posh shops (a bit outside my comfort zone). Gorgeous fabrics - tweeds with a twist. Not really my style, but I did enjoy looking. This was too far outside my comfort zone though! So I stayed outside it.

What a beautiful morning! Looks like you were up and about very early as there is hardly another soul around. I do love Glasgow's sandstone buildings.

Your pictures are beckoning me up to Glasgow for a visit - we had a lovely long weekend there and always said we would go back.

Lovely that you were able to catch a ride to Glasgow instead of having to take the more circuitous (and longer) public transport route. Enjoying your architectural photos. The gorgeous fabrics are always a draw, too, even if outside the comfort of my purse. Will likely join Viv in waiting until after the new year to contemplate the Artists Date. Life is a bit too crazy at the moment.

Sometimes an impromptu adventure, with no itinerary, is the most fun of all! What a glorious day you had for it, too, Freda! I love that blue sky! I feel lucky that despite living in a small city (28K), we have endless cultural options here. One could be busy every day. This weekend i am going to the “carnegie international” in pittsburgh. A huge international art exhibit that takes pleace every 5 years.

I picked up an interesting little book in the Edinburgh storytelling centre in the Royal Mile- called 52 Dates for Writers by Claire Wingfield. Very useful for artists too. Maybe Santa could provide a copy...

Visited Walker Slater's website just now for their woman's wear. Beautiful tweeds evoking the spirit of Wuthering Heights.

I might take another trip to focus on the details. All those tweed things were beautifully made.
