I have just had three very lazy days. They were lovely and the sky didn't fall in!

Are you starting to think of next year? Will you choose a word for 2025?

This is one of the beautiful images from the Advent calendar I bought from Sarah Raven this year. Absolutely beautiful; it has been a daily pleasure. I must think of a daily pleasure for January. Any ideas?

How about spreading joy throughout January? Each day you tell one person you know (or even a complete stranger) something that you genuinely really appreciate about them. How kind they are... how much you love their taste in shoes... how beautiful the window display is in their shop... So often we don't get around to saying these things and it makes such a difference to people to be 'seen'.
I casually mentioned to a neighbour the other day how much I'd loved seeing her newly created garden come to life during last Spring and she was overjoyed that someone had noticed and appreciated it. It was like triple joy - my joy at her garden, her joy at my comment and my joy at her joy! You might even set off a chain reaction. At the very least there will be 32 happy people - one for each day plus you. The Joys of January!

Great idea Amelia, someone I knew has just died in his 40s and that's made all of his friends focus on appreciating each other while we can. And strangers too!
