What can I say?

Mind blown, head buzzing, eyes birling - London is an exciting place.

I loved Columbia Road Flower Market - every tiny back yard a cafe, croissants and sarnies, decent coffee, quirky shops, street music by Brooke Sharkey, scent of jasmine and lilies, gardening shops, vendors cries 'Two fer a fiver!' 'Mind yer back!', the chutzpah of the woman reversing the beautiful car in (fast) and filling it with giant plants, and the colours!

Welcome back - it's been quiet round here without you. Love the flower market photos - such wonderful colours. 'Eyes birling'! never heard of that before - is it some peculiar Scottish expression?

It's nice to be bacck Elaine (and I love your latest post). Yes eyes 'birling' means they are spinning round in my head. You can also say someone will be 'birling in their grave'. The Scottish language can be very expressive. Glad you got your car back and love the square photographs..

Welcome back Freda glad you had a good time in London. I hace heard of Columbia Market but never been there. It looks fantastic in your pictures and the video shows there is a great atmosphere there. Sarah x

Dear Freda this is one of my favourite places in London. I so wish I Iived near enough to buy armfuls of flowers every weekend. My son recently bought some beautiful apricot coloured peonies and what I think we're lime green mop head .......I'm sure you would know. They were stunning! All the shops and little cafés are wonderful too. We had some lovely tea and cake in one of them
