Simply..making it through?

Half way through November, how are you doing?

The list has meant I have had meals at a beautiful table, too much cake, a wish that came true, though I've not had the starry night experience - so much rain!. There has been lots of music, silly jokes, a donation (through sudden tears) to the hospice where Barry was cared for, and lots of flower arrangements. I have plenty of time and used some of it to finalise my Desert Island Disc selection over a couple of pleasant evenings. I made a promise to myself to use my word for the year to support me every day, and I made contact with more people (I had to be brave and risk rejection...).  I have made up my mind to keep going till the end of November with it.

There are still problems and dark days - a funeral I couldn't attend,  but this daily focus on achieveing something helps me along, makes me stronger.

All the restrictions are for the sake of helping one another after all, and though still some way off an end is in sight.

And the forest is still beautiful, even on a rainy day

The forest is glorious! I didn't realise that you had this nearby, as well as the shoreline and loch.
I felt moved about your donation to the hospice that cared for Barry. Sending a big cuddle.

And mid-November. Hmm! I'm feeling a bit 'meh' (as young people say) this morning. I haven't attended to my exercise and daylight needs for few days, having prioritised trivial housekeeping tasks for no good reason. Pah!

Me too! Oh yes I’ve been remiss in putting the necessary effort into looking after myself for a few days. Thank you for the nudge. Also for the reminder that I’m not alone in the occasional lapse.

Freda. The forest is so beautiful; I can almost smell it.

Just saying 'Hello' Gwendoline. Enjoy your self-nurturing.
I seem to have been working rather hard at Lockdown-ing, and feel tempted to schedule some holiday days for myself. Good wishes, Susan.

I don't find November an easy month even in normal times. It's only four weeks till the days get longer!

My house has the forest behind and the sea-loch in front, but on dreich days I can happily just dtay indoors.. 'Meh' is quite expressive isn't it!

PS. You have emboldened me to make more contact with others. (Sometimes, I get weary of being the instigator. Although, people seem to enjoy themselves when we do meet/chat.)

The forest is very beautiful even on a rainy day of which there have been many. Having somewhere green to walk is, I think, self-care at its best but sometimes going for a walk seems such hard work especially in the rain. The list has been an inspiration so this afternoon I plan to cut some chrysanthemums, bravely flowering away in the garden, and to phone a friend I haven't spoken to since our restrictions tightened. Like Susan I get a bit fed-up of so often being the one who makes the contact but usually they are pleased to chat and I feel better having made the effort. Win, win as they say.

Win win is a really good situation Sheena! But I wish the rain would stop.
