A glimmer of sunshine and I am out there for breakfast!

It is certainly autumn here, and raining as I write, but this morning with a sniff of the odd sweet pea or two, the late swallows twittering all around me and wearing a cosy jumper I savoured breakfast out of doors.

I'm sure it tastes better. Would you agree?

On our trip to Norway a few years back we ate lunch al fresco, at -4C!!!. In the sunshine and all wrapped up I barely noticed the cold. And it sure did taste better!

Wow! I might try some winter breakfasts outside - though not in -4. Might try one if we get snow though!

Yes to the pleasure of meals eaten outdoors, Freda! Rusty duck, you are reminding me of a winter hiking day in the canadian rockies. We found a shelter and heated up wieners and beans and hot coffee and it was the best picnic ever!

That sounds lovely Freda! The author of a book I was reading the other day pointed out that quite often we choose comfort over experience and that when we do we often miss out... I bet there was more unexpected joy in that outdoor breakfast than you could have imagined. We had a picnic on top of a hill for our Christmas dinner again last year - I recommend it!

Oh I love the sound of that Christmas dinner Lotta! Comfort over experience reminds me of that 'we were not made for escalators, we were made for thunder and mud' quote....
