A packed Glasgow Cathedral was the setting for a concert by London Concertante - a birthday gift from my daughter. Mellow acoustics, virtuosic playing, and a classical programme with the odd surprise like this new-to-me piece.

I love the music, but I also love the fact that the windows have been opened to the night. How wonderful to be walking along a street and to hear this 'borrowed music' rather than 'borrowed light'.

What a glorious setting for a concert. And a lovely present. I am hoping to visit St Martin's in the Field on Friday night for a Bach and VIvaldi concert, but only if jet lag doesn't overcome me.
