What are you passionate about?
I read that fear is overcome by passion.
Would you agree?
And would you agree that you can make a choice to be passionate about something?
A blog break while I ponder this (and test it).

I'm passionate about the piano, growing and eating wonderful food, beauty (in art, nature, home etc), the improvement of the environment, my animals, and many other things.

Gardening is my passion and I do it as I walk, talk and breathe with no real conscious decision. I don't talk about it a great deal though and people may not even know I do more than cut the grass.

Gardening used to be one of the very few things I did where I wasn't thinking about something else at the same time! This subject will roll I can see....

My thought is that when passion for anyone, or anything, or any activity is ignited..it is because somehow a doorway has opened inside ourselves..and we are suddenly feeling truly ourself. We are in the moment, present and accepting of ourselves. That might even give us a feeling of fearlessness. But it is a deep KNOWING that this (person, activity, interest) is RIGHT for us. Daring to follow a passion sometimes requires great courage. I will have to think about how fear could be overcome by passion. and i do not believe that i personally make choices to be passionate...a spark is ignited! And if i am lucky, i have paid attention in that moment..and passion begins to flourish, if it is nourished. (Ok..strange thought here: perhaps unrequited passion becomes obsession?)

It has a lot to do with deciding to commit to something I think....more on this soon. Thank you so much for commenting.

I suppose we can choose to learn more about something, or experience something, and that increased knowledge can spark passion, but I don't think we can force that passion to appear.

Interesting questions. I am not sure you can choose to be passionate about something although I am at the moment testing whether I can rediscover a lost passion through the 100 day project. And can passion overcome fear? Yes I think so. Years and years ago I read the book called something like "Feel the fear and do it anyway". That worked then and works for me still.
