Simply..question time....

You know I like a good question.

Here are three which I find helpful.

As I began thiis blog and focussed on simplicity I often asked myself when I was unsure of how to proceed What would be simplest? I found that i nearly always knew the answer to this question - then I just had to do it.

The second question is helpful in putting any dilemma into perspective. Is this a life changing decision? More often than not it isn't! You can also put the issue on a scale of 1 - 10 in importance....

The third question is a new one for me. My word for the year is strong and I find myself asking Does this kind of self talk/train of thought/potential action/way of dealing with this make me stronger? I've been finding this really useful.

Do you have any good questions?

Oo, a bit early in the morning for a spot of philosophy.
One question I often ask myself now is “Do I need or want this person in my life?” When I was younger I was really keen that people liked me and tried to adapt to be what they wanted me to be. Now over 60 it is the other way round. I quite like who I am and think that the people in my life should like me too. If I have to try hard to be someone different there doesn’t seem much point.

Seconded, Catherine.
I find it reassuring to hear this from you, including that it's OK to expect to be liked.

One of mine is: what would create comfort and ease?

Is it any of my business? Is a great question for decluttering the mind. So many things that we are expected to have an opinion about are really none of our business, and it frees up a lot of space and energy.
Is it really true? Is another favourite.

Am I (with this thought, act etc), being the best person I can be?
