A question..

How many people live in your home?

And how many socks?

A bit of a mundane subject compared to cherry blossom in Japan - which I am enjoying very much Lucille.

from the look of the socks on my washing line it would suggest a house full of people when in fact there are only two - I think socks multiply in the wash basket.

Am enjoying the blossom in your garden too! Lovely post about what a garden means to us. (Socks do breed I'm sure..)

LOL - far fewer than there used to be, on both accounts!
But the number of knitted socks has increased till I have had to ban myself from knitting any more till I've managed to give away what is already superfluous… :o
(and don't get me started on single socks…!!!)

Ah, I wondered when someone would mention the mystery of single socks!

Aaah! The extraordinary one sock mystery. This links very well with some of your other 'Simplys'. Like why do I have a large basket of single socks? Simply get rid?My son is rather fond of odd socks and I always ( rather predictably) say 'You have another pair just like that.' ,

I have a sock story. Years ago when we live in a flat, we had some lovely neighbours, one of whom was a Malaysian lady with two young children. While we used the communal washing machine downstairs, she had the luxury of a machine in her bathroom. One day, she rang my doorbell and asked if I could help - she'd started a load of laundry and then found two small socks she'd forgotten. For some reason, she then thought she could add them to the washing powder compartment and popped them in, realising almost at the same moment what a silly thing she was doing… I couldn't help but laugh (and have often done so since when I thought about it!) and she was very lucky because they went straight round the drum and to the filter, where we rescued them - she was extremely red-faced about it but we did have a giggle!!
