First swallow, first cuckoo and first orange tip butterfly - all in one day with warmth and sunshine too!

I am taking a little blog break and leave you with a few recent pictures and a piece of music (forget Julie whatshername) by the wonderful Stephen Hough....

Hi Freda, I heard my first cuckoo yesterday morning too! Lovely pictures, especially the seed heads with shadows (alliums?) and those beautiful perfectly matching blues. Been enjoying catching up with your posts. x

Thanks for sharing the recording Freda, I enjoyed it immensely. I was lucky enough to hear Stephen Hough when he performed in my town a few years ago - I think he's one of the greatest living pianists we have.

Al lovely post, the colours in the pictures are so fresh and vibrant! I also love allium seed heads they are so pretty and always look wonderful creating shadows on the wall. Take care on your blog break. Sarah x
