(If not be sure to look for five things tomorrow!)
Can you list five things whch made you smile today? (If not be sure to look for five things tomorrow!) Here are my five. The sun (always makes me smile), the sunflowers, the warmth on my back as I gardened, the flock of birds rising up out of the long grass when I opened the front door (finches I think), a video call with a friend who was still cheerful even though it was pouring with rainn where she was. We do need cheerful people around us and things which make us smile. It's also a lovely thing to make others smile. A gift of sweet peas does the trick. I have nver had so many!

(1) Brunch with two good friends I haven't seen in too long a while (2) Seeing a buzzard soaring over the fen (3) Receiving a parcel of Allium bulbs sent by my father (4) One of my cats asking for extra fuss even though he wasn't hungry (5) Home-made chilli con carne using some of the tomato glut that just keeps coming. It was a very rich day and I could not be more grateful for all of it.

Air conditioning working (major repair recently), my former feral cat sleeping in my bedroom, coffee, zillion black eyed Susans in full bloom in my yard, and seeing neighborhood kids outside playing

Sunshine after torrential rain, watching a buzzard soar above me as I hung out the washing, getting the 9 letter word on word wheel, picking blueberries and runner beans and sitting outside having a cup of tea with friends.

One of my rescue dogs finally feeling safe enough to do rolypolys around the lawn The butterfly that sat by me for morning coffee. Jake Jarman winning gymnastic Vault gold at the European Championships although put in as a substitute. There aroma of the lemon chicken when I took it from the oven. The luscious look of all the salad goods for lunch growing in their raised bed.

Here are mine: chatting with the retired-nurse who volunteers as meet-and-greet at the super new museum in Dorchester; and finding out that it might be possible for me to volunteer as a conservator's assistant; reading a couple of Salley Vickers' short stories; wrapping big fat Bramleys in newspaper to store; lying down on my comfortable bed.
