Simply..stretching....

Are you remembering your word for the year? Is it proving helpful? You can of course change it if it is not...

Mine is stretch and I do some nice stretches before I even get out of bed. Very pleasurable.

Another way I build in stretches is to have tea and coffee on a high shelf so I have to stretch a little to reach them.

I am reminded of a story of a plumber fitting a new washing machine for an elderly lady. He asked her if she wanted it raised up on a plinth to make it easier for her. Not at all she reolied. Then I would have to go to a gym and pay to bend like your generation!

Much of modern life is so easy we barely need to move ourselves...

I think ‘stretch’ is an excellent word for the year. I especially like the idea of the tea and coffee. It reminded me of a programme years ago, where someone was advising an Englishwoman of how to lose weight and get fit the French chic way, and it was pointed out that a French mother wouldn’t send a child upstairs to fetch something, but would go herself. It also recommended walking every time you possibly can! Hope you have an enjoyable weekend. PennyL

Nice French chic ideas. I wonder if Grace can tell us if they are true! I am having a nice weekend Penny and hope you are too.

Haha! I hadn't heard that one. According to the title of Mireille Guiliano's book, 'French Women don't get Fat'. A bit of a myth if you ask me ...

Considering my height, just about everything is a stretch. :)

Exercise does seem to be a completely separate part of daily life for many people. I once heard a woman complaining about having to walk from the furthest area of the carpark which is fair enough but we were waiting to go into an exercise class at the local sports centre. Stretch was a good choice.

I have left all the mugs on the highest shelf of the cupboard for the very same reason. I nearly moved them somewhere more convenient until I remembered the Pilates classes I pay for!
I also have to stretch to reach the top bolt of the front door with my finger tips.

If I hear some music that makes me feel like moving I stretch to that too...
