A slightly different angle on questions about your wardrobe ... How do you want your clothes to make you feel?

Comfortable/confident/ attractive/ warm/ dry/ stylish/ creative...

More food for thought in this site - lots to browse if you have the time and the inclination -

Scarves are my favourite accessory and I have lots, hanging on their own set of hangers, ironed and ready to wear. I spend more than I used to on lovely quality fabrics (though I do buy in the sales) and the quick addition of a fresh scarf and perhaps a pair of earrings makes me feel ready for anything!

I am taking out from the wardrobe everything that is not ready to wear now. So, those things that need altered or dry cleaned and the many pairs of trousers that don't fit, as well as the ones which are only fit to garden in because I have way too many gardening clothes.

Do you have things in the wardrobe that you can't or don't wear? Getting them out of there is a great step forward!

We have some tired clothes we wear only at home. As other clothes get weary or stained, we add to our in-house stash. At this time of the year, when switching out summer for winter clothes, i cull them down to 3 shirts and 2 pants. No need filling up storage space with the tatty.

I'm getting rid of all the tired ones. But I do spend most of my time at home. I do want comfort (but no tatty!) It's whatever works for us...

I definitely have things to get rid of for one reason or another (e.g. tatty, don't fit size-wise or current/planned lifestyle). It is one of the first tasks I have set for myself after retirement. The problem with this task is that it usually leads to ten more tasks and I don't have the time at the moment. Pull out some items, see other things in closet that need going through like boxes, etc. and one gets distracted or disheartened rather easily. In my case, the issue is that almost every closet in my house has items belonging to others: my four adult children, my in-laws, etc., which means I don't just have to make decisions for myself, but for others, too. C'est la vie.

Oh no! Perhaps they could all be persuaded to take away their stuff before you retire? Think how that would simplify your life!

I have 3 pairs of pants that i really love, but that are too small. Apparently i would rather eat than wear them...sigh....as for the rest..as t-shirts become tatty, they become housework or gardening shirts..then well-ventilated sleep shirts...then off to textile recycling..:-)
Once, i did not buy ANYTHING for 3 years..and at the end of each season, i got rid of anything i had not worn. ...finally i had to admit..there really was NOTHING to wear! Hahaha

I haven't had a chance to have a good look at Anuschka's blog yet but she has the most useful and informative article on bra sizing I've ever read.

Haven't read that bit yet. She's pretty smart I think.
