Simply..the Kelpies....

I am a little shocked to realise how much of my own country I hardly know!

I have just spent a couple of days in East Lothian with lovely friends who showed me the Kelpies, the Falkirk Wheel and the attractive town of Linlithgow.

A kelpie is a shape shifting mythical water sprite in Irish and Scottish folklore.

We saw the Kelpies for the first time when we visited Scotland in June. Unfortunately not in detail as you have done Freda, but even from the main road passing by they were highly visible.
Scotland is very varied even covering a smallish part.

The Kelpies are amazing , much bigger than I had imagined and the Falkirk wheel is quite a feat of engineering. It's always fun to play "being a tourist" nearer home. Glad you enjoyed your blog break.
