Acceptance feels like a huge relief when I can actually do it. A weight shed, a burden lifted. Occasionally it just happens on its own when I'm not expecting it. That's always a bonus! And it frees up so much energy when you're not fighting something that is already the case. But much easier said than done, and some things are incredibly hard to accept... Sometimes it takes a bit of magic... x

Incredibly hard. I wish I had a wand!

read the comments on Joie de vivre yesterday and they have been floating in my mind today. Plenty of "food for thought" there, I'm hoping you'll follow up on this subject.

You raise some interesting points Cristiana. We are always being exhorted to try harder, think bigger etc and I am wondering if this is always wise?

Not wise at all, of course, but still, very hard to ignore...

Another meaningful link. I've listened to his preliminary video/audio earlier this afternoon. Must think about truely committing myself to 44 days of practice a little more before beginning though. Even when realising it would deepen my concept of ' healing' (my year word)

I am just taking it easy with this one - if I miss a day, I miss a day....but useful ideas for me just now.

Leo's post on gratitude and being held by the world is outstanding! Thank you Freda....gratitude...yes we are so pampered compared to folks 100 years ago. It is all too easy for me to slip into an unconscious expectation that life will be smooth and everything i want will be available. (Oh!..and my way, too!) Acceptance of what i simply cannot change....HARD....for me, the hardest work of all.

grief can be the hardest of all, no matter how privileged we might be....i remember one of my yoga teachers reminding us all that we can't compare our wounds and think, well mine aren't as bad as some other person's....when we are hurting, it can be at our maximum for us, no matter what anyone else is feeling or suffering...hugs, Freda...
