Too slowly in the winter - I long for the early morning sun to wake me up.

Not long Viv! Getting closer every day.

Over the Chesapeake Bay about a 1/2 mile (.8 km) away--though the Bay is not visible from my house unless you stand on the peak of the roof--not a recommended viewing position. Trees do get in the way. Kitchen faces east so it is first to catch the sun.

I love to imagine you there - though not on the roof!

In stripes onto my bedroom wall through slatted wooden blinds... if it is sunny the stripes are gold and the blue sky glimmers through the slats. Yellow and blue... my favourite colour combination.

Dying to know what that is on your kitchen wall?

A lovely description Lotta. On the wall is a wooden stick found in a field in Sweden and a token of affection given to me by a fellow student - special memories!

sunlight comes later now that we're a little further west. there's a parachute factory behind us - the bedroom gets a little brighter when the workers turn all the lights on around 6 a.m. to start their day. a parachute factory? who would ever imagine that?

I hope those parachute workers are functioning on full form at 6am... parachute quality control is not something you’d want to skimp on!

I can only hope their quality control is better than how they leave the parking lot at the end of the day. it seems it's every car for itself. the middle lane tries to edge out the right lane when that's clearly the lane with the advantage. the left lane might just as well give up...they are always the last out. the highlight of my day 😁

Sunlight comes into our kitchen first..i love a kitchen that faces east!
And at this time of year, it filters thru the trees and lands in a bright, shifting puddle on the floor of my study...:-) also there is a crystal hanging in the window of my yoga space..and about 10:30 on sunny days, the entire room fills with rainbows, twisting and turning.
