..the very very small things.
Picture
Like tiny seedlings of wnter saladseSomething I have not tried before, but feeling a bit down  (still a bit unwell) it lifted my spirits to transplant  some seedlings. We all need something to care for, whether it be people or pets or plants.

What lifts your spirits if you are low?

Well Freda, it might sound trivial, but I defrosted my freezer a couple of days ago, while outside the house I had the mayhem of builders ripping up my patio and paths.....cement dust, noise, disruption. That little area of cleanliness and order made me feel ridiculously happy. I do so hope that you will be feeling much better soon, but agree it is so good to do something positive when one least feels like it.

Not trivial! To be able to focus on a job needing done in the midst of all of that.… Well done.

Sorry to hear you are still feeling out of sorts Freda and hope you regain your strength very soon. Some of the things that pick me up are curling up on my bed with a good book and my two cats, reading your blog, the sight of a wee wren or a robin through the kitchen window ...

Hope your winter salads grow strong and healthy ! Eating home grown salads through the winter is always a treat. I find sowing seeds and nurturing seedlings brings a sense of excitement and contentment that lifts my spirit.

I just love growing things from seed, thought I don’t usually do it at this time of year. I hope you are doing well.

I really enjoy your blog Freda , and it too lifts me and helps me to feel grounded if I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed with life. Really simple things lift me, sitting with a cup of tea , watching the birds in the garden , doing one small job well, and stroking our dog ,talking to my twin sister who lives a 6 hr drive away. Hope you make steady progress, bit by bit you’ll feel better xx
