Simply..the vital spark....

Between the sparkly skirt and those photographs and a motivational book I feel myself moving slowly forward....into the New Life.

Thank you to Dragonlily who in the comments many months ago said 'some things you just have to learn to live alongside with' She was right.

I'm taking a blog break to take advantage of a forecast spell of dry weather - I hope they've got it right!

Here are the first pages of the new life notebook

I accept is by far the hardest.

Wishing you smiles and sunshine.

I think acceptance when it comes fully is one of those things that happens in every cell - more deep learning. Until then we just have to keep chipping away at what Byron Katie describes as our 'arguments with reality'. Acceptance can be so hard. But I can feel your new spark through your blog posts Freda! Will keep my fingers crossed for sunshine for you... and more smiles... x

Thanks Lotta. Byron Katie's unusual take on things is very helpful to me.

Bad stuff happens. When we reach the point of accepting, we stop fighting it, and that can release energy to more forward in what is the new reality. Have fun in the sunshine!

I hope the forecast is correct. Bask in the sunshine. You so deserve it.

“to love life, to love it even
when you have no stomach for it
and everything you've held dear
crumbles like burnt paper in your hands,
your throat filled with the silt of it.
When grief sits with you, its tropical heat
thickening the air, heavy as water
more fit for gills than lungs;
when grief weights you like your own flesh
only more of it, an obesity of grief,
you think, How can a body withstand this?
Then you hold life like a face
between your palms, a plain face,
no charming smile, no violet eyes,
and you say, yes, I will take you
I will love you, again.”
― Ellen Bass (American poet)

Thank you for your kind wishes. I wonder if Dragonlily still reads the blog. It would be good if she knew how she had helped, wouldn't it.

Sending you good wishes as you set out on this new journey, Freda. Thank you for those words of wisdom from Dragonlily : I shall pin them on my wall to remind me not to let certain aspects of my life stop me from growing and enjoying the good things.

Your New Life will be a different life to the one you thought you would have but I am sure it will hold plenty of wonderful discoveries one of them being just how strong you are. Take care and hope to see you very soon if you are about. x

Messages to the soul
on a blank canvas.

Crossing the threshold
moving forward.

Slowly.

There's no need to hurry.
