By mid-afternoon - mid-afternoon! - I was sanding and polishing the little wood and brass spirit level Barry bought in an antique shop in York many years ago..

I just knew there would be treasure in the shed. Why are Brasso tins always rusty? Well done, a big hurdle overcome.

I had not thought of that Lotta - thank you! Not quite finished as although I have gathered together all the photographs and letters into the one spot I've not yet gone through them - but I gave myself till Christmas....

It is a lovely word and concept - first used in 1760'ish is all I've found out so far Cath.

For me, this is one of your most poignant posts ever, Freda...and Lotta’s comment simply adds to the meaning: spirit level indeed....i will be interested to see where this spirit level finds a home inside! And will it be a reminder to do daily self-care to level your own spirits?

I knew immediately where it should go. Watch this space..And thank you for your interpretation too.

How lovely that is. It should be put in pride of place as a symbol of all that you have achieved and a perfect leitmotif.

I will love it as a symbol of my Kondoing journey as well as a special memory of Barry. I can remember the shop and him buying it and the conversation he had with the man who owned the shop - it was a lovely day. It needs a little more work on it, but I will enjoy it.
