Simply..to be honest....

As the fox says in Charlie Mackesey's wonderful book The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and The Horse

To be honest, I often feel  I haave nothing interesting to say. (To which the horse replies To be honest is always interesting.)

LIfe is very quiet of late. I am catching up with a backlog of papaerwork, have sold another painting, am thinking a lot about suspending judgement and wondering what on earth I will buy for Christmas presents this year...

What is happening with you?

I’m putting off auditing the freezer contents. Putting off unravelling both sleeves on the jumper I’m knitting for granddaughter because I’ve made a big mistake in both and wondering if our son will make it back from Japan for Christmas this year.
The house is making only tentative steps towards Christmas. There’s a tree to get. But surely it was only last week that I dismantled the last one?
I have bought a few presents from The Archivist. Good for cards and notelets and matchboxes.

How strange! It was only last week I dismantled mine too. My sister has a little sign which says procrastinate now... I do hope your son gets home for Christmas.

Freda, I know we always, your followers, look forward to whatever you may have to say. It is the connecting of friends that is so needed by all of us. Personally, we are on the road today to a retirement village 270 miles away. Movers here shortly. After some craziness here at the end the move is coming together nicely.

That sounds exciting! And breve. I hope the rest goes smoothly and you are sorted by Christmas. It is the connection between friends that matters. I love it.

The horse is right ! You are an interesting person whose friendship we enjoy. It doesn't matter if your days are hectic and exciting or slow and mundane . Right now I am resting in bed looking out over a garden in all its winter drabness (and neglect this season ) and watching a Red Kite slowly and gracefully circling against a backdrop of blue sky and fluffy clouds. Not very grand or exciting but still interesting and a pleasure to watch. Your blog and your friendship is always of interest..and a pleasure to read.

Thank you so much. Nature always provides something to engage interest, if we just pause a little. Watching a red kite sounds wonderful!

Well, I’m back in the world after Covid! I’m still intermittently very tired, some days I wake up fine and think I’m over it, then the next day I’m shattered. Speaking to other staff at my school who’ve had it ,it seems this is perfectly normal! Tomorrow I’m videoing a ukulele concert by the Year3s who’ve been learning the ukulele this term. I have been learning along with them, and it has to be said that I’m not a natural!! Today I’ve been trawling charity shops buying Santa and elf hats as we’re going to be playing Jingle bells and I don’t want the ones who forget, or who just don’t have one, to be left out! That’s about as Christmassy as I’ve been so far!
Mary R, I do hope the move goes well. How exciting to be in your new house for Christmas!
Lucille, I so hope your family is able to be with you from Japan. I will keep everything crossed. And thank you for the Archivist tip, I’m about to pop to their website!

So glad to hear you are better for me even if not fully recovered yet. Christmas in school is always fun. Frantic but fun. Good luck with your search and your concert. I too I’m off to look at that website.
