It puts my petty worries in perspective! I am much more relaxed about the decorators (husband and wife team) being here now that they have started, and chilled about the wrong colour of paint for the woodwork. In normal times I would have got sample pots to check I got exactly what I wanted, but its just another minor corona compromise....and in the great scheme of things doesn't matter at all.

While they worked patiently and methodically and without fuss (I do admire people who work like that) I got a lot of paperwork dealt with. Putting my house in order..

Have you made a lot of corona compromises? Minor or major?

And are you putting your house in order?

Corona hasn't caused too many compromises because in my little town we have barely been touched by it (although we did have about 3 months of lockdown, which was painful).

As for putting my house in order, yes, I certainly am. I think a run of calamities - drought, fires, pandemic - has made me even more inclined than usual to try and control the only thing I really do have much control over, which is my home environment. I am slowly sifting through books and other bits and casting a mindful eye over everything: do I really need/use/love this? Could someone else get more value from it? Is the effort of keeping it really worth it? We are in a new chapter of life now as empty-nesters, so there is a lot of rearranging going on, including in my interior world.

Thank you so much Madeleine. Outer and inner worlds to be explored and assessed - enough to keep us occupied for as long as it takes for the virus to be brought under control? Good work to be done!
