I like the message on the Edinburgh Festival posters. Grace and I had a happy day there yesterday. We chanced upon Indigo Yatd Gin Garden for a coffee while we decided what to do (it was too early for gin!). We loved the decor.. When life gives you lemons make a gin and tonic was our favourite message. We've discovered we like a lot of the same things, so it was easy to agree that Dovecot Studios should be our destination. This is the viewing gallery where you can watch the tapestry weavers at work. The building was converted from a swimming pool. The current exhibition is a history of Liberty Fabrics. More tomorrow...

I remember seeing a TV programme a year or so ago in which weavers from there were making Chris Ofili's huge tapestry The Caged Bird’s Song. . Very impressive. - no longer available on beeb, but someone has put it on youtube - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PgCOH1W7tTg

I think we could do with more of those posters everywhere at the moment. Just love that picture of all the spools of coloured thread caught in the light and shadow - fabulous! Sounds like a fun and fascinating day... look forward to hearing more. And belated congratulations Grace for your climb!

Aren't those posters good? As Lotta said we need more - everywhere.

What a wonderful day out. And both venues are so imaginative. I am envious!
