Both inspire me to redouble my efforts. (Much can be achieved despite presidents and governments, don't you think?)

Absolutely, a lot can be achieved without government! We can do a lot in our own lives, and teach and inspire others ( particularly those of us who work with children and teenagers). Many of my piano students have asked their parents for refillable fountain pens after seeing me using them, for example.

Well done Madeleine - we do need to speak up!

It absolutely can. What an inspiring woman! And well done to Denmark for listening. (I see she's done a couple of TEDx talks too.) I'm going to ask my two local organic/wholefoods shops if they might consider selling some products in the same way as the Zero Waste shop. I know they buy a lot of things in bulk and package them on the premises - it would save them the extra work!

A good move Lotta - zero waste shops will spread I hope.

I will continue to recycle, buy 2nd hand, and encourage companies to use less packaging, regardless of presidents, gov'ts, and non binding accords

yes indeed, to this fantastic woman..i am so happy to know about her. and yes, also, to zero-waste efforts and less plastic, and repurposing..as everyone above mentions...we ARE changing the world, one person at a time..when they see our behavior.
