Have you ever seen the Northern Lights?

I've not seen them yet, but live in hope!

I'm registered with a site run by the physics department of the University of Lancaster which sends me e mail alerts when it is likely that the aurora borealis will be visible - find out more here - we're on amber alert tonight and there is no cloud so tonight may be the night! If I can stay awake that is....

We did however have a most beautiful sky on Friday 13th:

Me too! I thought registering with Aurorawatch increases my chances...

Despite living in Aberdeen for two years, I never saw the northern lights once, but was astonished to them over Strone Hill one evening driving through Sandbank, about six years ago. Persevere, Freda - once seen never forgotten. And it wasn't late night, not quite completely dark - say 10pm ish.
