Simply Stylish and

.. now apply brain!

Here is my (current) favourite outfit -
Picture
Picture

Everyday clothes - nothing very out of the ordinary - but I feel good in it, I feel myself in these clothes, these colours and these proportions. I think they suit me. They are my 'look'.

Applying my rather tired brain (decision making fatigue?) I analysed the outfit -

narrow trousers (jeggings)
standard length T shirt,
short cropped jumper
coloured shoes
generous scarf

All in a similar colour range, close in tone, ie not too much contrast to divide up my five foot frame, one pattern maximum. I think proportions are often overlooked - narrow/wide, long/short. Look at the silhouette.

My friend's look  is -

longish dress/skirt
short pretty cardigan with three quarter length sleeves
thin patterned scarf
sandal/ankle boot

She can put several patterns together successfully, likes skirts with a swirl or seam detail or diagonal cut, and always wears several bracelets. (And always looks lovely.)

What is your look?

I expect you can see where I'm going with this....

terrific outfit freda!...i love it...you are inspiring me...i am a few days behind you, but today i bit the bullet, and cleared out the closet....it feels good, and you are so right, once you make the decision, there are no regrets...it is getting to the decision that is the hardest step....by the way, i found a scarf that would be great with some of your outfits...:-)
wouldn't it be fun to trade with friends?

Lovely berry colours :)
I do like your "uniform" and myself like a narrow jegging look with a longer top (to cover my more rotund bits!), though much as I like scarves and own many, they are - if I'm honest - a bit much on my short neck (I'm only just 5'2").
Having said that, looking at my wardrobe, it seems my uniform is a shortish, knee-length (jersey/knit) dress or bright skirt/skimmy top with boots or flats and some interesting neck detail…and short or 3/4 sleeves (I keep pushing longer ones up!). Interesting.

BTW, have you come across http://into-mind.com/2014/10/01/rebuilding-your-wardrobe-on-a-budget-what-to-buy-first/? Found completely by coincidence yesterday, has lots of thoughtful links.

Sounds good! I have very short hair which leaves room for the scarf I think....am off to check out this site. Thank you.

I like your look very much. Those shoes look both stylish and comfortable. I favour a bright red strap with my Mondaine watch. I need to get out of trousers but hate tights and don't have the right shoes. I have a drawer full of lovely scarves which seldom see the light of day because somehow, once on, they get in my way too much. I am making a start on the cupboard today. Like The Provincial Lady I stare at the contents believing they will reveal the perfect outfit and they never do.

Siga, siga. And if you need a nap first, fine! (Why do you 'need to get out of trousers' I'm wondering?)

Your look is perfect. I love your colours. Apart from the jeggings which I will not wear I wouldn't mind meeting these in my wardrobe.
My favourite look: grey wide trousers (anthraciet we call this colour), layer of white top, standard length tshirt in burgundy, black jacket. No watch, handmade one of a kind brooch on the jacket, black or burgundy shoes, no scarfs.

The perfect look is different for all of us, but once found.....pleasure and ease.

So true. After sending it I realised yesterday ' which I will not wear' sounded a bit unfriendly, harsh. What I meant was even admiring them with others I don't feel comfortable in them myself and that is what it's all about isn't it?
